Stores and aisle sections
Updated 2026-07-06

Every store is laid out differently, so Tradish lets you set up the stores you shop and arrange each one's aisles to match. Once that is set, your grocery list groups items the way you actually move through the store.

Managing your stores

On the Stores screen you can:

  • Add a store you shop at.
  • Rename a store.
  • Toggle it active or hidden, so stores you are not using right now stay out of the way without being deleted.
  • Reorder your stores to put the ones you use most at the top.
  • Delete a store you no longer shop.

Setting up aisle sections

Open Edit Sections for a store to arrange how it is organized:

  • Choose a sort mode. Pick a general predefined order that works for most stores, or a custom order you set yourself.
  • Add and rename aisles, so the sections match the signs in your store.
  • Reorder aisles into the order you walk them, from the entrance to the checkout.
  • Delete aisles you do not need.

You can also set a default store, the one Tradish reaches for first when it does not have another store in mind.

Why this matters

When your aisles are in the right order, a grocery list built from a plan reads top to bottom like a walking route, not a jumble. Ingredients also carry a default aisle, which you can set per ingredient. To manage those defaults, aliases, and merges, see Master Ingredients.
